City Today began in Haarlem with a simple goal: to spotlight the very best the city has to offer. From culinary delights and local hotspots to hidden gems, we wanted to showcase just how much there is to love about this vibrant city. What started as a passion project in Haarlem has now expanded into cities like Amsterdam, Utrecht, Leiden, Dubai, and more.

We teamed up to create a bold, fresh brand identity for City Today, and since then, we’ve crafted hundreds of pieces of content, photos, blogs, and reels, that capture the pulse of each city. As City Today continues to grow, we’ve built websites, run SEO and ad campaigns, and even organised events for expats, turning the platform into a thriving community hub.

Highlighting What Makes Each City Shine

Our main goal was to build a brand that feels young, authentic, and engaging, one that resonates with locals, expats, tourists, and businesses alike. It’s not just about creating a logo; it’s about creating a movement that makes every city shine in its own way. With Haarlem as our pilot location, we wanted to show that City Today could be more than just a local guide, it could be a trusted voice in cities around the world. Our mission is to craft a brand and digital platform that seamlessly showcases each city’s authentic charm while providing our audience with engaging content, blogs, and event listings.

Balancing Local Flavor with Global Growth

Expanding the brand from Haarlem to multiple cities came with its own challenges. Each city has its unique vibe, skyline and hospitality offer, so our content needed to reflect the local flavor while keeping the overall brand identity consistent. We also developed viral templates for reels that could easily be adapted to different cities without losing that City Today spark. Another challenge was building a platform that could serve both as a visual showcase and an informative hub for events, blogs, and city info, all while scaling SEO and managing advertisements effectively.

From there, we developed a cohesive brand identity, built multiple accounts and a website that serves as a one-stop shop for city life, from blogs to events and everything in between. The platform is SEO-optimized, driving traffic organically while supported by targeted advertisements. Out content creation includes photo and video shoots, highlighting businesses, sights, and everything that makes these cities unique. With a focus on creating engaging reels, we developed a viral template that has been incredibly successful across platforms like Instagram and TikTok, showing the best each city has to offer in a fun, shareable way. Additionally, we organized multiple successful events for expats in Haarlem, creating real-life engagement with the City Today community.
